The New Moon in The Sign of Cancer – 21st June 2020
This will be a rare New Moon in the sign of Cancer, in so much as there will be a second New Moon again in the sign of Cancer towards the end of July! But the sequel moon won’t have the Solar Eclipse that occurs in the early hours of the morning.
A Solar Eclipse during the Summer Solstice is quite a rare thing, the last one occurring 19 years ago. Usually, an eclipse marks a turning point, particularly in our own lives. Let’s hope combined with some positive energy we can harness it for a much-needed boost!
The Solar Eclipse
The Solar Eclipse can bring in a new chapter and perhaps a whole reboot that can be welcomed as a new beginning for some of us! Take the opportunity from it to be a little bit more open with your loved ones and your feelings. After 3 plus months of lockdown, it’s probably safe to say that tensions might be just a little high, but that’s totally understandable!
This New Moon Eclipse falls on the World Axis at zero degrees of Cancer. This is where we might have this a feeling of refreshed boosted energy! The Solar Eclipse is also when the joining of the Moon is happening directly between the Earth and the Sun. It occurs briefly as the moon blocks out the sunlight, which might momentarily make us feel a little disconnected from our senses. It’s not a complete eclipse of course, but depending on where you live, some of us may be able to see it. Weather permitting of course!
The Moon in Astrology
The sign of Cancer is a sensitive one, and those under the sign of the crab may be feeling the effects of the new moon more than the rest. Those signs who will likely benefit from this moon are the bizarre trio of Aquarius, Leo and Sagittarius. Those are signs who are not resistant to change and not ones to be given any encouragement in getting up and moving on!
There are also five planets that are in retrograde whilst the eclipse is happening. These planets are Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and, of course, our current mischievous Mercury! From next week Neptune will be joining those planets, making their cycles a Cancerian like time for us to re-examine the joys in the little things we have in life and perhaps look beyond the horizon.
When is the Next New Moon?
The next New Moon will appear on the 2oth of July 2020 and (Ohh deja vu!) will be in the sign of Cancer! What will this moon mean for us in July? Be sure to find out in the next New Moon Blog!
